To get to know Me

My name

Hello, I’m Lucrezia. I go by Lucrezia Rachele Zito in full.

You may be familiar with the Italian noblewoman and Pope Alexander VI’s daughter Lucrezia Borgia. Well, we may have a similar appearance, but I can assure you it is not me, because her fame precedes her name as she has a history of being a disgrace.

My origin

I was born in an area of Italy close to Milan. You’ve probably already heard of the Monza Formula 1 race track, I’m from that province. I must confess, it’s a pretty lovely and tranquil spot. So now you’re probably wondering why I ran away.

My path

I must admit that I did as my mother did. I moved to London last year, mostly for academic reasons, and I’m currently enrolled in the second year of the Digital Media and Communication Bachelor. In particular, this year I decided to specialise in PR and advertising. The reason is due to the interest I developed in humanities in high school. More specifically, in the study of the mechanisms and persuasive techniques found behind the advertising message.

Because I think that communication is one of our most basic needs, and because I have always felt the desire to communicate, I am interested in media and communication. Since I was a child, I’ve encountered various media and picked up various languages, but until recently, I never immersed myself in current events and never could measure myself with what was happening around me, because I always felt that I was expressing other people’s opinions.

Three years ago, that changed. In one of the human sciences courses I was taking at the beginning of my senior year of high school, I finally grasped what it meant to communicate—ironically, even those who remain silent do so. Even the “dead” communicate, which is even more ironic. From there I began to take refuge in the study of the great figures of humanity, a bit like Giacomo Leopardi did in 1818 with his famous “Mad and Desperate Study”.

Studying humanities freed me from the “prison” that limited my thinking to the thinking of others. it allowed me to develop critical thinking and cultivate a strong curiosity that has always defined me.

——————————————————————————————————————–

Fun fact: My uncle used to refer to me as a fox when I was little because of my cunning and resourcefulness. This connection may have been meant as praise a few years ago, but nowadays the fox represents haughtiness, injustice, and greed. Furthermore, it is frequently linked to Satan; nonetheless, I still find it flattering.

More about myself

Overall I would describe myself as simple, decisive yet simple.

Regarding my preferences, I like to say that I enjoy a little bit of everything. While I detest country music, I adore comedy and crime dramas. I am very passionate about literature and philosophy.

Thank you for your time!
